| ROB
at Vengalam Inaugurated |
||
The Road Over bridge at Vengalam in lieu of L.C. No. 196 between Elathoor
and Koilandy stations was inaugurated on 12th June 2006 by Sri.V.S.
Achuthanandan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala. The function
was presided by Sri P.J. Joseph, Hon’ble Minister for Works. Sri.
Elamaram Kareem - Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Sri Binoy Viswam
– Minister for Forests and Wild Life, Dr. M.K. Muneer Ex- Minister
and former Chairman of RBDCK, Adv. P.Satheedevi – MP (Vadakara)
and Sri P. Viswan – MLA (Koilandy) were the Guests of Honour of
the function. Adv. M.K. Premnath – MLA (Vadakara), Sri. Gyanesh
Kumar IAS – Secretary PWD, Smt. Rachana Shah IAS District Collector
and Er. N.Natarajan IRSE Deputy Chief Engineer Southern Railway were
also present at the function. |

Railway
Portion of this ROB consists of three spans. Out of these one span is
Pre-stressed Concrete box girder having a length of 25 mtrs and other
two spans are of RCC Box girder having 15 mtrs length. |
||
The approaches of this ROB have been constructed using the State of the Art Technology of Reinforced Earth. The total length of the ROB is 329 m |

| Muzhuppilangad
work re-started |
|
The temporarily suspended construction work of Muzhuppilangad ROB was
re-tendered and the balance work of construction of ROB at Muzuppilangad
and allied works were awarded to M/s. Skilled Construction Company Limited.
The contract agreement with M/s. Skilled Construction Company Limited
was signed on 19th September 2007 and the Notice to proceed with the
work was issued on 1st October 2007. The contractor has started the
work on site. |
