at Tripunithura Inaugurated |
||
ROB at Tripunithura in lieu of the level crossing ( L.C. No. 8) on the
KRL Road was inaugurated on 9.7.2004 by Dr. M.K. Muneer, Minister for
Works, Government of Kerala.. The function was presided by Mr. K.Babu,
Member of Legislative Assembly. |

Railway
Portion of this ROB has 2 spans of Pre-Stressed Beam and Slab with a
total length of 45.2m. The land portion of the bridge has 10 spans of
RCC Beam and Slab with a total length of 370m. The approaches to the
bridge are constructed using the State-of-the-Art Technology of Reinforced
Earth. The total length of the ROB including the approaches is 415m |

The
ROB was constructed with Financial Assistance of M/s Kochi Refineries
Ltd. (K.R.L.) and the Dhanalakshmi Bank Ltd. |

| ROB
at Meenchantha Inaugurated |

The
5th Road Overbridge (ROB) constructed by RBDCK, the ROB at Meenchantha
in lieu of the level crossing ( L.C. No. 177A) on the Beypoor Road in
Calicut was inaugurated on 30.5.2004 by Dr. M.K. Munir, Minister for
Works, Government of Kerala.. The function was presided by Mr. M.P.
Veerendra Kumar, the Member of Parliament. |

Railway
Portion of this ROB has 3 spans of Pre-Stressed Voided Slab with a total
length of 51.2 m. The land portion of the bridge has 7 spans of R.C.C.
Box Gird with a total length of 162.5 m. The approaches to the bridge
are constructed using the State-of-the-Art Technology of Reinforced
Earth. The total length of the ROB including the approaches is 330 m. |

at Tirur Inaugurated |

The
Road Overbridge at Tirur in lieu of the level crossing ( L.C. No. 171)
on the Tirur-Tanur Road in Malappuram District was inaugurarted on 14.2.2004
by Dr. M.K. Muneer, Minister for Works, Government of Kerala.. This is
the 4th Road Over Bridge being commissioned by RBDCK. |

Railway
Portion of this ROB has 3 spans of Pre-stressed Box Girder ( 1 span
of 32.4m and 2 spans of 22.4m ). Approach on the Calicut side has 5
spans of 26m (PSC Beam and Slab) and 97meters of Reinforced Earth Embankment.
Approach on the Tirur side has 5 spans of 26m (PSC Beam and Slab) and
116m of Reinforced Earth Embankment. Total length of the ROB is 550m.
Overall Construction cost of this ROB is Rs. 49.9 Million. |

Road Overbridge at Vengali in lieu of the level crossing ( L.C. No.
192 ) on the Calicut-Kannur stretch of the NH-17 was inaugurarted on
18.12.2003 by Dr. M.K. Muneer, Minister for Works, Government of Kerala..
This is the 3rd Road Over Bridge being commissioned by RBDCK. |

Railway
Portion of this ROB has 3 spans of Pre-stressed Box Girder ( 1 span
of 32.4m and 2 spans of 22.4m ). Approach on the Calicut side has 4
spans of 21m (Box Girder ) and 120 meters of Reinforced Earth Embankment.
Approach on the Kannur side has 6 spans of 20.5m ( Box Girder ) and
136m of Reinforced Earth Embankment. Total length of the ROB is 540m.
Overall Construction cost of this Rob is 5.13 Crores. |

| River
Bridge at Pulamanthole Inaugurated |
||
River
Bridge at Pulamanthole was inaugurated on December 18, 2003 by Dr. M.K.
Muneer, Minister for Works, Government of Kerala. |
||
This
bridge was constructed across Kunthi Puzha on the Pattambi – Perunthalmanna
State Highway ( SH 39 ) to replace the existing old bridge which is
in a distressed condition. Due to the distressed condition of the existing
bridge, no vehicular traffic was possible and this was causing lot of
hardship to the public. Commissioning of the new bridge has reduced
the hardship of the public to a great extent. |
||
The
bridge has 8 spans of 23.1m with prestressed I beam and Deck Slab. Total
length of the bridge is 185m . Overall cost of the project is Rs. 2.0
Crores. |

at Vellayil, Calicut inaugurated |
||
The
Road Overbridge at Vellayil in lieu of the level croosing ( L.C. No.
186) on the Gandhi Road in Calicut city was inaugurarted on 15.11. 2003
by Dr. M.K. Muneer, Minister for Works, Government of Kerala. Sri.O.Rajagopal,
Hon’ble Minister of State for Defense, presided over the function.
This ROB will serve as the main link between Calicut City and the proposed
West Cost Highway. This ROB will also reduce congestion on other arterial
roads in the City. |
||
Railway
Portion of this ROB is Pre-stressed Box Girder of span 27.4 m. Aproach
on the Beach side has 4 spans of Box Girder ( 1 span of 25m and 3 spans
of 22.5m ) and 91.6 meters of Reinforced Earth embankment. Approach
on the N.H. side has 3 spans of 22.5m (Box Girder), one span of Solid
Slab ( 17.5 m ) and 59.1m of Reinforced Earth embankment. Total length
of the ROB is 356m. |

| Kerala
Expressway |
||
Project
details of the proposed Kerala Expressway has been hosted to the website
of the Roads and Bridges Development Corporation of Kerala Ltd by Dr.
M.K. Muneer, Minister for Works, Government of Kerala on the occasion
of the AGM of the Corporation held today at Cochin. Details of the project
like concept, alignment, design and costing, Economic and financial
analysis etc. are available in the website of the corporation having
the address, www.rbdck.com. |

The
Kerala Expressway is a 507km long access controlled high speed corridor
that is proposed to serve as the arterial facility linking almost all
the important destinations of the state with 19 interchange points. |
||
The
Expressway is proposed to be executed in three phases. Phase I is between
Pulikkal near Kozhikode and Athani near Ernakulam, Phase II is between
Athani and Pallippuram near Thiruvananthapuram and Phase III is between
Chalinkal near Kasaragod and Pulickal. |
